This week’s readings focused on how to build a strong management team for our startups. As mentioned in “The Team,” a startup management group should consist of an Entrepreneur, Technical Innovator, Delivery Specialist, Salesperson, and Financial Advisor (West 2002). The book excerpt, along with the other readings, do a good job of explaining who we need on our team to make our startups a success, but given how crucial having a good team is to the success or an organization, I wanted to provide additional information on how to go about forming a good management team.
Below is a list of articles that highlight how to attract highly skilled people who believe in your idea and can “steer it through to success” (West 2002):

The third article is especially interesting in that it claims that startup companies need cohesive “execution teams” rather than “management teams” and expresses additional views that conflict with the readings (OnStartups.com 2006). Does anyone know of any additional articles, blog posting, etc that offer any other views that oppose our readings? If so, please share.
